THE RULES

  • Barista Brawl Competitors must be 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United States or legally able to accept taxable monetary prizes.
  • Registering does not guarantee placement in the competition. Competitors will be notified by email.
  • A Barista Brawl competitor may register for multiple rounds, but may only win one per calendar year.
  • A Barista Brawl competitor must register as a ‘professional’ if they have earned income from any coffee related activity in the last calendar year
  • A Barista Brawl competitor may only register and compete as either amateur or professional
  • Amateur competitors are not eligible for cash prizes

The competitor agrees to have their likeness and information used in marketing materials for this contest as well as their likeness and information in future marketing materials related to this contest. The competitor agrees to have their information posted on this website and the relevant social media accounts to this contest.

THE POUR

  • Barista Brawl Competitors will have 3 minutes per round to present their best pour.
  • There is no limit to the amount of pours attempted, but only one may be presented to be judged.
  • A Barista Brawl competitor may register for multiple rounds, but may only win one per calendar year.
  • Subculture Coffee will provide espresso, milk and cups.
  • No tools can be used in the forming of your latte art.
  • Barista Brawl Competitors may bring their own steam pitcher.

JUDGING

  • Competitors will be judged on these criteria: Symmetry, Contrast, Difficulty & Speed
  • Points are scored on a 1-10 scale.
  • The judging panel are 3 industry veterans.
  • A Barista Brawl competitor must register as a ‘professional’ if they have earned income from any coffee related activity in the last calendar year
  • Judging is based on accumulated total judges score.
  • A tie-breaker will be decided by who presented their pour to the judges faster.
